The Zoerselbos is a 400 ha large forest and nature reserve in the Belgian municipality of Zoersel, part of the Natura 2000 area of forest and heathlands east of Antwerp. The association Friends of the Zoerselbos has been advocating since 1972 for the preservation of the forest. They oppose, among other things, a large development, the establishment of a recreation area, and also against "excessive foot traffic," whether or not by motorized vehicles. They achieved success with the final protection as a landscape in 1985. Today, they participate as volunteers in further preservation efforts, including in the Visitor Center and the Kempen Farmers' Flower Garden.
