La Solitude Castle is a neoclassical castle in Auderghem on the edge of the Forêt de Soignes, near Brussels. The castle was built between 1910 and 1912 according to plans by François Malfait. The commissioner was Duchess Marie Ludmilla de Croÿ, née princess and duchess of Arenberg. She had become the widow of Carl, 12th Duke de Croÿ, in 1906 and retired to the castle, surrounded by animals. After her death in 1953, the state bought the property and housed a school for the children of street vendors, followed by an AIDS information center. Afterwards, it was bought for the office market.
