Around 1872, Francis Ide purchased the old inn 'De Croone' (Stationsstraat 3B) to establish a brewery there. The Ide brewery was discontinued in 1981. The municipal government bought the building, restored it, and transformed it into a cultural center. A prominent feature of the building is the tall chimney that has been preserved to this day.
