The Castle of Mesen was part of one of the four circular fortifications built by the princes during the ninth and tenth centuries for protection against the Normans, located in the municipality of Lede, East Flanders. It was a rectangular tall building situated to the south of the fortification and located around a courtyard with a chapel addition in the southwest corner.
