De Luysen is a nature reserve in the Belgian municipality of Bocholt, which consists of a complex of fish ponds of 40 ha, followed by a swampy forest area. The ponds are fed by the Abeek. The area is owned by Natuurpunt.
The name of the area comes from the luys-kruyd, and this was reed, reed grass or cattail. The fish ponds of De Luysen and the nearby Mariahof, partly also used as swimming ponds, were purchased by Natuurpunt in 1996 and redesigned. Since then, together with the surrounding wetlands, they have formed an important resting point for waterfowl. Two bird-watching huts were set up.
