The roller coaster, built by the Dutch Vekoma, opened in 1992 under the name Colorado and has a track length of 785 m. In 1998, the track was renamed Calamity Mine by Maurice De Bevere, the artist who drew the Lucky Luke comics under the pseudonym Morris. In 2007-2008, the roller coaster was renovated. In its early years, Calamity Mine also had a water effect in the middle of the pond. Every time the train skimmed over the water, water would splash up along both sides of the train. In 2012, this effect returned after being absent for several years.
