The Leggett monument has been located since 2001 in the shadow of the St. Dyonisius Church in the district of Geluwe. It is a two-part artwork. The monument commemorates the death of Australian Corporal of Horse William Leggett (1st Life Guards), who fell in Geluwe during World War I on October 14, 1914. The monument was erected in 2001. The second part of the monument was unveiled on November 11, 2005, in Goulburn (Australia), the corporal's birthplace.
