A neo-classicistic church (1880) built by the architect family Van Arenbergh
The church was finished in 1880 according to a design by architect A. Van Arenbergh, member of the architect family that putted a stamp on many of the churches in the area.
The tower forms an integral part of the church and rises above a nave, 3 aisles and 5 bays. The separated choir is older and dates from 1772.
The church is in brick stone with corner pieces and window frames in stone.
The interior and church furniture mainly dates from the 19th century except the roman font and the 18th century altars. The font in the back of the church stems from the 12th century and is one of the oldest in Belgium. The bluestone body has masks and floral themes and a copper lid with cross.
Some tombs are from the 16th and 17th century, including the renaissance-style tomb cove from M. Menten (+1620). In those days it was considered an honour to be buried in the church (against payment). Hygienic considerations brought this practice to an end.
