Strip wall Reinhart

Reinhart Croon (Leuven, 1971) studied Applied Graphics at the Sint-Lukas Institute in Brussels. He debuted in 1994 in De Standaard with loose cartoons and the surreal cartoon series Shelter Hotel. For Het Nieuwsblad, he conceived the stop comic Bruno and Bavo. Additionally, he worked as an all-round graphic artist for VUM (Het Nieuwsblad) for 7 years and for Woestijnvis (Bonanza) for 8 months.
At the end of 2002, he established himself as a full-time freelance illustrator and comic artist. He works among others for Averbode, Libelle, Goed Gevoel, Grande, and Hunter Douglas.
Since 2005, Strip Turnhout vzw appoints a Turnhout city artist every year who dedicates considerable attention to Turnhout in his work for a year. Starting in 2007, Strip Turnhout has realized comic walls in various locations in the city center at the request of the Turnhout city administration. As the sixth city artist, Reinhart was asked in 2010 to create a comic wall. He draws inspiration from his comic Hunker Bunker and from café Ranonkel opposite the comic wall. The drawing combines a large buttercup with the characters from Hunker Bunker.
Other comic walls currently found in Turnhout include those by Jan Van der Veken (side wall De Weerelt) and Ulf K. (Bloemekensgang).
