In the forest, the Roosterbeek creates a swampy situation that is difficult to get through. Via the billet path you can still safely explore the valley of the Roosterbeek. The dead trees that can be seen lost their lives due to the rewetting. In contrast to the black alder, not all tree species are adapted to a situation in which they have 'wet feet' for large parts of the year. In spring, you can observe the brook mitre, a mushroom, along the stream.
