“At the city and district administration, we advocate for naming as many slow roads as possible. This makes it immediately clear to passersby that it is a public road,” says Sabine. “On Linkeroever, we are completing a fun project. Many slow roads there will be named after comic characters.”
“Other ways we highlight the slow roads are through our discovery tours. Slow Roads Antwerp has developed an inventory map that shows the diversity of slow roads in the city. And in October, we always participate in the Day of the Slow Road, for which people can also organize their own activities.”
The Park of Eden is 23 hectares large and a mix of water, fauna, and flora. The central part is designed as natural play space, and between the park and the residential area, an orchard of old fruit varieties has been planted. Just under half of the park is a nature reserve managed by Natuurpunt.
