Park of Eden

The park of Eden is a large part of a nature reserve, where wet nature is given every chance. The site was already managed by Natuurpunt before it was set up. At that time, a large part of the area was still cornfield and horse pasture. Natuurpunt was involved in the preparation of the development plan, so that the valuable ecological elements such as the anti-tank ditches, the bomb pits, the marshy grassland, the seepage water pools and the forest fragments were taken into account as much as possible. The park is built around a central nature centre, surrounded by a spacious zone where soft recreation (walking, cycling and playing) is possible. The water is at the heart of the entire design. In the area one can find various fauna and flora such as winged St. John's wort, wood orchid and cuckoo flower.
