Description
Located on the corner with the Rozestraat. So-called "Villa John Deere" according to the iron inscription, named after an American tractor factory where the client, a returned emigrant to America, is said to have worked. Brick double villa with surrounding garden, said to date from 1939 and designed by architect L. Verthé (Ingelmunster). Inspired by the cottage architecture, see the staggered floor plan, the play of roofs (bitume) and the high left gable; adjoining more recent volume on the right under flat roof bordered by means of roof tiles. On the other hand, semi-circular bow window of salons, with adjoining balcony and small bay window. Rectangular, mostly elongated windows. At No. 167, rectangular front door between brick piers; at no. 169, round-arched door. Preserved woodwork with horizontal rod division and stained glass.
