Formerly surrounded castle in traditional brick and sandstone style dated A01719 through facade anchors. Double house of five bays and two floors topped with a high gabled roof (slate) with wooden dormers; middle bay leading to a turret marked by the playful pear-shaped crowning.
Brick masonry using sandstone (low base) and bluestone. Cross windows with negblocks, double relieving arches of a roll layer, hitting windows and thin crosses. Elaborately worked door frame of bluestone: inscribed, with key and loop marked round arch on styles with recessed shafts and imposts, leading to decorated consoles that carry the drip list; crowning between volutes held façade stone with the likeness of St. Gertrude under a drip list.
Flanking annex buildings on both sides with one bay, one story, and gabled roof (slate) constructed in the same brick and sandstone style (19th, 20th century). More recent outbuildings (flat roofs) presumably with copied or reused round arch doors from the 18th century.
