On the banks of the Scheldt opposite the Castle of Bornem, a striking group of trees stands in view of the castle. An ash, a summer oak, and a plane tree were planted together here along an unpaved path between two fields. Presumably, the planting of the ascending group of trees was part of the landscaping of the castle, just like the groups of ten ascending plane trees nearby.
