The castle avenue of Olsene was already shown on the Ferraris map (ca. 1775). It starts at the gatehouses of Olsene Castle on Chaussée de la Chaussée de la Rue de la Chaussée de la Champade and runs eight hundred metres in a north-northwesterly direction. The avenue stops at the elongated farmhouse along the Rotsstraat and passes the pilgrimage site Olsene Rotse. It is mainly an avenue with upright pedunculate oaks from the first generation of plants, which was supplemented by brown and common beech, here and there a maple, a single plane tree and American oak. On the sandy poor soil there are seedlings of maple, birch, American bird cherry, rowan and spruce. It is an iconic avenue, free of motorized traffic that offers a quiet walk.
