Two forest complexes, approximately 2500 hectares, redeveloped in 1727-1770 as an annex to the castle gardens of the Duke of Arenberg; classic checkerboard pattern of straight roads, originally with green rooms or 'salons' and two 'stars'; the 'Parnassusberg' in the Heverleebos is a monumental, stepped belvedere hill with remains of the original planting with lime trees; drift plantations from 1850-1860 with brown beech and American oak.
