So-called Villa Zonneschijn. Former residence and studio of painter Emiel Claus. After his death, it served as a temporary museum. Former country house located between the road and the Leie, probably built in the early 19th century by the Ghent industrialist Heyndrickx on the site of the old leasehold and "house of pleasure" known as "de Quade Betalinghe" (see map of Sanderus and document from 1646). According to sales deeds, it became the property of lawyer J. Ghesquière in 1833 and in 1889 of E. Claus.
