Monastery and school of the Xaverian brothers

4th-Liniestraat no. 11 and + 11. Former monastery and school of the Xaverian Brothers from the 1920s, cf. image of Francis Xavier above the school portal. A notable building due to the well-executed post-war architecture of the elongated yellow brick volume under gabled roofs. To the left, a monastery building with an L-shaped floor plan, featuring a square (spiral?) tower under a tent roof in the corner and a wing with a wolf's end. Rectangular wall openings under white-painted concrete lintels, preserved woodwork with cross layout and small muntin divisions. Arched portals in a recessed frame, at the school in a projecting volume with a crowning gable. Above the aforementioned portal, an arched niche containing a white-painted half-elevated statue of Francis Xavier as a missionary. Now in use for municipal services.
