Formerly also called "Castle Rooman." Originally a country estate with a more or less square moat located in the Ganzendries district. Purchased at the end of the 17th century by Sebastiaan d'Hane van Stuivenberg, lord of Heusden. In the 19th century, it was owned by the Rooman family. In 1900, the castle was enlarged, and the owner had part of the moats filled in. Around 1935, a wing of the castle was demolished, and renovation works followed that still define its current appearance. Recently renovated. Rectangular brick castle with a neoclassical influence. Years 1714-1900 on a cartouche-shaped stone above the entrance door in the right side facade. Double house of two stories and seven bays under a truncated gable roof (slate), provided with wooden dormers. Brick fascia walls on a gray plastered base. One slightly protruding corner risalit in the corresponding bay of the front and rear facades, ending in a round-arched fronton on broad pilasters. Framed round oculus with a decorated keystone in both frontons. Coupled plastered Corinthian pilasters on the upper floor in the risalit of the rear facade. Round-arched front door in a profiled and decorated hard stone frame under a straight cornice. Plastered architrave. Protruding door bay in the right side facade ending in a roof window. Colored stained-glass window with a motto: "viriliter et mansuete" in the upper window. Square corner tower of three divisions at the northern corner with a slate spire: plastered corner blocks, partly natural stone main structure, and a sculpted natural stone arch field of the lower window on the rear facade side with coats of arms and the motto: "viriliter et mansuete." To the east, an adapted coach house with round-arched passages to the partly walled former kitchen garden behind it. To the north, brick doghouse under gable roof (tiles) partly resting on three wooden posts with volute-shaped struts. Iron fencing for the dogs at twisted slender gate pillars. To the southeast, a former staff house. A farm cottage of one story and three bays under a gable roof (Flemish tiles), with a bell tower, from the late 19th century. Yellow-painted and anchored brick facade with a plinth and arched wall openings. Front facade defined by a corner tooth and rhythmized by horizontal plastered flat bands. Associated low small brick stable with a gable roof (Flemish tiles).
