Hoeve The Sand Carpet

Camiel Meysmansstraat nr. 30. A small farm located on the street, so-called "THE CARPET," cf. recent metal inscription on the gate. Site marked on the primitive cadastral map from around 1830: one volume perpendicular to the street. In 1914, an extension of the farmhouse with a lower volume under a gable roof, possibly with a wooden dog wheel (cf. mutation sketch from 1914). At the front of the garden, a Marian grotto, a walnut tree on the property. Elongated volume with house and barn under a gable roof (mechanical tiles) with a utility building to the left connected with a dog wheel for churning milk (reconstructed according to the old model), enclosed with wooden planks with an oval window, under a lower gable roof. White-painted brick construction above a rough plinth. Lightly arched openings under a stretch with partially preserved woodwork. Stable/barn: brick floor on its side, separate mixing and feeding pen with metal shutters. In the 1960s, covered with a shed. At the back of the farmhouse: a small raised room. Recently demolished transverse barn with cladding on the long side, on a stone foundation, cf. painting. Interior of the living area. Floors of colored cement tiles and red Boomse tiles, wooden doors with original hinges and locks, small fireplaces with glazed hearth tiles, beam paneling, small raised room with a brick staircase.
