Formerly called "Castle Herry", now "Castle Sint-Denijs". Castle located in the middle of a park with gentle slopes as a remnant of former dune ridges; numerous deciduous trees and a pond. Current entrance on Adelaarsstraat, preceded by a red beech avenue from the Kortrijksesteenweg. Previously also provided with an entrance featuring two towers on the Gemeenteplein, with the construction of the left facade in 1895 by Baron L. Herry, owner and then mayor. Demolished a few years ago. Domain further bounded by Kleine Gentstraat, Drie Sleutelsstraat, and Wallekensstraat. Empire entrance gate with a heavy iron gate between bundled pillars of bluestone topped with eagles, originating from the Kortrijksepoort: the new city gate built in 1808 designed by architect J.B. Pisson and demolished after 1860 (abolition of the patent right); later rebuilt here. Castle in neo-Flemish Renaissance style, according to archival documents, primarily dating back to 1886 and expanded to its current form in 1903. Overgrown brick and hard stone building with two floors and a hipped roof (slate) with dormers in gable form. Front facade of four bays with a marked right side risalit featuring a crowning gable and a bay window on the raised ground floor. Arched lower windows preceded by a terrace; cross-windows on the upper floor.
