Detached, oriented neo-Gothic church with parking lot on the south side, former cemetery. The first written testimony about the existence of the church is said to date back to 1120: it was dependent on the abbey of Afflighem. On the basis of the floor plan, the existence of a Romanesque church is generally assumed; After the destruction of 1640, the church was rebuilt in 1662, probably also the choir, dating from the 17th century; in 1765 a new sacristy was added on the south side; enlargement works in the period 1847-1852, including in 1849 to a design by provincial architect F. Berckmans, namely enlargement of the floor plan (side aisles), raising the walls and reconstruction of the roof in neo-Gothic style; in 1863-1864 to a design by J. Schadde, a new façade for the tower that enclosed the older whitewashed tower and, in keeping with the rest of the church, completed a new neo-Gothic building; Repairs from 1926-1928 were carried out according to the design of and under the direction of E. Careels.
