It is located along the Retie-Kasterlee track and it was built in 1906 in neo-Gothic style to a design by the Leuven architect Langerock commissioned by François du Four, who was mayor of Turnhout at the time and owner of the Brepols printing company. During the summer months, the castle served as a holiday residence for the Du Four family, and hunting parties were organized during the winter. The beautiful park of 30 ha in English landscape style was created by the Brussels landscape architect Jules Buyssens.
