Castle domain accessible from the Gistelse Steenweg to the west adjacent to the domain Provincial Administrative Center Boeverbos to the east at Kloosterveld. 1561-1571: the site is shown on the map of Pieter Pourbus as a moated upper court and associated lower court. The castle was located along the Boterbeek. 1610: purchase by Bishop Charles de Rodoan from Karel Romeyns. 1618: sale to Charles van Boonem, alderman of Brugse Vrije, later owners: family Boddens, Baroness de Clèves, de Grouf, de Muelenaere, family Pruyssenaere. 1641: Sanderus draws site with upper and lower court. The moated upper court was accessible via a wooden bridge. The castle, built in Gothic style, is characterized by a stair tower, small arch towers, stair and gable ends worked with natural stone cross windows. 1713: on a map indicating the castle domain Steentien and the abbey buildings of the Abbey of Sint-Andries, the building stock is represented in the same way as in Sanderus's image. First quarter of the 19th century: construction of a new avenue leading to Doornstraat. 1835: on the primitive cadastral plan, the site is represented as a domain accessible via a long avenue starting at Gistelse Steenweg. The castle, surrounded by a broad moat, was accessible via a bridge. 1867: sale by widow Sabot to August de Laage de Bellefaye. The castle was in poor condition. 1870: enlargement and partial reconstruction of the castle. 1885: construction of a new farm building and greenhouses. 1892: enlargement of the coach house. 1920: purchase by Paul Dautricourt who has the facade decorated in French style. May 19 - 28, 1940: stay of Leopold III (surrender of the Belgian army). 2000-2004: heavy renovation of the castle, resulting in the loss of valuable interior elements. Completely moated castle accessible via a brick bridge on the east side consisting of two pointed arch-shaped arcs at the top equipped with a balustrade. Castle on a rectangular floor plan with a round tower extension in the southeast corner. Two floors high + basement under a slate gabled roof. Impressive chimneys leaning towards the Flemish Renaissance. Strongly symmetrical main facade five bays wide embellished in the 1920s. The facade is articulated with pilasters according to the colossal order. Three central bays with triangular pediment crowned with flanking volutes. Expanded portico at the entrance door. Right lower window accentuated with bay window extension. Facades worked with rectangular wall openings provided with small grid divisions. Interior. Thoroughly renovated in 2004 with preservation of the neo-Gothic chapel. House chapel in neo-Gothic style with wooden pointed vault. Polychromy on walls and wainscoting. Coach house from 1885, with extension in 1892, located to the east of the castle. Single-story building on a U-shaped floor plan under tiled gable roof. Red brick construction finished at the top with corner mouse teeth under the eaves.
