Field chapel with small-leaved lime

The view with the huge lime tree and the small chapel against the background of the open field landscape is well known. In this landscape, he is the most important iconic object. The site gives an ideal-typical image of the region, which is reinforced by the field roads that lead to the crossroads. The tree of Meldert is the tallest, thickest and oldest small-leaved lime in the wider region and probably in the entire province. It has a beautiful, representative growth form. The appearance of the immediate surroundings has hardly changed in the last 200 years. Two roads of the seven junction disappeared and four roads of the intersection were paved with cobblestones.
