Braets chapel

Zandvleugestraat z.nr. Veldkapel, to the right of farmhouse no. 16. Known as "Braets chapel" from 1910, integrated into the garden hedge (red beech). Nowadays also referred to as "Praeters chapel" named after the current residents. Dedicated to Our Lady Comfort in Need and established following a mission by the Redemptorist fathers. The client is Louise Braet, who has the chapel built on the yard of her brother's farm. Restored in 1993. Brown brick under a gable roof (mechanical tiles). Gable crowned by a sandstone cross, pointed arch door, and above it a trefoil with stained glass. Interior with white plastered walls under a wooden ribbed vault. Wooden, neo-Gothic altar with a statue of Mary with Child behind iron gates. Sandstone holy water font with the year "1910". DEGUFFROY G., Ruiseleede chapels and crosses, in Old Ruysselede.
