On The Trail Of The Noufy Stone

Between Les Villettes and Trou de Bra, in the dark and impenetrable wooded heights, a large stone veined with quartz rises up, the Noufy (or Noufi) stone. It is located at 471 metres in altitude, right in the middle of nowhere. Little known, it is one of the country’s most secluded rocks. According to legend, a ring of gold is buried in the stone and is constantly growing. Moreover, it is reputed to guarantee fertility to women who touch it. It is said that in olden days, witches held their covens there. But getting there safe and sound is a very different story... As it’s not visible from the path, to find it you need to step into a spruce wood where trees have been cleared to allow you to pass.
