Opening hours: Opening hours visitor center: tourist season (Easter to September) from 1 PM to 4:30 PM, weekends from 2 PM to 5 PM, July and August also from 9 AM to 12 PM, outside tourist season from 1 PM to 4 PM. Closed on Mondays, public holidays, and bridge days.
The Rufferdinge mill in Landen is a watermill of the undershot type, which is rather rare in Flemish Brabant. The dam or storage pond is now, unlike before, artificially supplied with water. The water is now pumped from the Molenbeek, which is 3 meters lower, to the storage pond. The iron waterwheel has a diameter of 4m and is 1.62m wide. The waterwheel has 42 sheet iron buckets. On the metal water shaft is a conical gear wheel with 114 teeth that sets the whole mechanism in motion.
