After a municipal architecture competition, the Antwerp architect Léon Stynen (1899-1990) was commissioned in 1925 to build a Casino. The modernist building opened its doors in 1930. What you see now is the result of numerous renovations over the past seventy years. In the Casino, you can admire beautiful works of art: The legendary journey from 1974 by Paul Delvaux (1897-1994), the mural from 1987 by Keith Haring (1958-1990), and of course the largest painting in the world, The Enchanted Domain by René Magritte (1898-1967), painted in the rotunda room in 1953. A number of paintings by Roger Nellens (1937, grandson of Joseph Nellens) adorn the enormous chandelier hall.
