The nature reserve De Kleiputten of Heist houses 22 hectares of natural beauty amidst the Flemish coastal polders. Low-lying meadows with marshes and wide reed fringes create a dream retreat for birds and amphibians. The 'Kleiputten of Heist' are divided into two by the railway connection Heist-Brugge and also by the Isabellavaart.
