There are different opinions about the explanation of the old place name. According to some, the name would refer to the poetic "muses," others stick to "music" because you hear a rustling sound when the wind plays through the branches, still others see "mus" for marsh, and finally "meuzies," the local dialect word for mosquito - so a forest where many mosquitoes are found. The 50-hectare beech forest is largely private, with 13 hectares being public property. The forest covers a large part of the Music Mountain. This wooded "mountain" once formed part of the natural border between north and south. Wood hyacinths or blue stockings provide an impressive flowering carpet here around the months of April/May!
