Chapel of Our Lady of Consolation in Need

Chapel of Our Lady of Consolation in Need, also known as "Beel Chapel", rebuilt in 1949 on the site of an early 19th-century chapel.

History:
In 1810, Franciscus Beel built a chapel near his farm as a thank you for the safe return of his son Petrus from the French army. The chapel, which is shown on the primitive cadastral plan (ca. 1830), was damaged and robbed several times in the course of time, but each time restored by the Beel family.
In 1842, Father Jozef Beel, son of Petrus Beel, venerated the chapel with various relics, including those of the Holy Cross, the Sepulchre of Mary, Saint Barbara, Saint Anthony Abbot and Saint Cornelius.
In 1949, Father Alfons Beel had the current chapel erected after another safe return of a family member, this time priest Remi Beel, who was imprisoned in Brussels during the Second World War.
