The museum (protected heritage) is the last home and studio of the great Flemish expressionist Gust De Smet (1877-1943). After the artist's death, the municipality opened the house to the public and henceforth called it 'Museum Gust De Smet'. The museum contains the fully equipped living room, the studio and the bedroom on the first floor. The artworks on the upper floor are presented thematically and per period. In addition, the cabinets and chests of drawers were set up as a mini depot. The archival documents, personal library and utensils shed an interesting light on the artist's life. The bequest, the (construction) history, reopenings and former caretakers are also explained on the basis of articles, photo material and documents.
