Dilbeek is located in the Pajottenland and has merged with the Brussels agglomeration and is therefore also highly urbanized. However, the municipality still includes some green areas, such as the Helle, the Wolfsputten, and the Kattebroek.
Sources claim that the name "de Helle" originates from a constantly burning dump in the former quarry.
