The Hees Woods is a forest and nature reserve located north of Zelem in Limburg. The forest is named after the hamlet of Hees, which is located to the south of it. The total area is over 100 hectares.
The forest is situated on the witness hills north of the Zwarte Beek, where there is a steep edge on the south side, while on the north side the hill slopes down much more gradually. This is the Hees Hill. North of this hill, the Heesbeek runs parallel to the Zwarte Beek, north of which lies the Barenberg in the region of Flemish Brabant. The hills here reach heights of over 30 meters above sea level.
