The Horta site of the UMC Brugmann, formerly known as Hôpital Brugmann, is a hospital institution in Brussels. The hospital is part of a hospital complex officially named Brugmann Universitair Ziekenhuiscentrum.
The Brugmann hospital was originally funded thanks to the patronage of Georges Brugmann and was created by architect Victor Horta. The hospital was inaugurated in 1923 and is located at Van Gehuchtenplein 4, in Laken. The pavilion structure in an 18-hectare park corresponds to the original and unusual hospital architecture. The UMC Brugmann is the last general hospital in Belgium that still retains this structure. The layout of the buildings is symmetrical and separates the functions and departments of the hospital. Since 1996, studies have been conducted aimed at modernizing and rationalizing the hospital while preserving the heritage aspect of Horta's architecture.
