The Overmeers nature park is a beautiful green space of approximately 7 hectares. It has been open as a nature and educational park since September 22, 2013. Hikers, nature lovers, and schools can fully enjoy the greenery and the beautiful bodies of water. The highlights of the nature park are the waterfowl and amphibians that feel at home in the large pond and the streams.
The development of Overmeers was a compensatory measure for the new connecting road - the Valentin Vaerwyckweg - which connects the R4 with the Station parking. Now everyone can enjoy a beautiful piece of green in Ghent, near the Ghent-Saint-Peters station.
