Greek legend
According to a Greek legend, God gave a name to all plants at creation . When he thought he was done, a small blue flower called out: "Oh Lord, don't forget me!". "That is what you will be called" said the Lord then.
Medieval legend
In the Middle Ages , a knight was once walking along a river with his lover. While picking a bunch of flowers, he fell into the water due to the weight of his armor. As he drowned, he threw the bunch of flowers at his lover and shouted "Don't forget me." This flower is connected with romance and tragedy and was often worn by women as a sign of loyalty and infinite love.
