In recent years, bee mortality in our regions has been alarming. Wevelgem has been committed to bee-friendly green management for years and thus ensures a better living environment for the bees. All green areas
are pesticide-free. In addition, we are playing the card of harmonious park management and opting for extensive management of certain areas. This means that certain grass strips will be mowed less. In the park you can already see a lot of bee-friendly plants such as geraniums, hellebore, ornamental onion, crocus, hyacinth, daffodil, holly, rowan, linden, acacia, horse chestnut.... It is important that they have single flowers, so that the bees can easily reach them. We sowed a local flower mixture and created a poppy meadow.
