Drielinden Chapel

The Drielinden Chapel, overshadowed by three linden trees, forms a beautiful ensemble at this intersection. It dates back to 1635. The statue was donated in 1686 by the Jesuit Fobelets. The former cross procession passed by here. Until a few decades ago, neighbors would gather here to pray in the event of a death. From here, they would continue on foot while praying to the Chapel of the Meadow, ending at the home of the deceased.

Iron sandstone was rarely used during that period of the 17th century to construct a complete building. Brick has become the main building material. However, iron sandstone, as is the case here, is still used for baseboards and for the frames of windows and doors.
