Square in the village center of Desselgem, located at the corner of Liebaardstraat and Meierie. The square is named after cyclist Albéric Schotte (1919-2004), "the last Flandrien," as he lived in Desselgem for many years and was buried in the cemetery of Waregem.
The square was created after the demolition of the inn "De Melkerij" at the corner of Liebaardstraat and Meierie, which was established around 1903 and whose name refers to a dairy that used to be located nearby (at Liebaardstraat no. 141). In 2005, a piece of art in honor of Briek Schotte was inaugurated in the triangular square, and in 2006, a large artistic photo of the cyclist was hung on the side wall of the adjacent house (Liebaardstraat no. 133).
