The Abbey of Rouge-Cloître is located on the edge of the Sonian Forest, 7 km southeast of the city of Brussels¹. This former priory, founded in 1366, is administratively located in Auderghem. The area of Rouge-Cloître, surrounded by ponds and traversed by the Roodkloosterbeek, has always been a popular place for nature lovers, both for peace and for a walk. The site provides the limestone sandstone necessary for construction, wood from the forest used for furniture and heating. The springs are abundant and the ponds are full of fish. The Rouge-Cloître, a place to walk and a gateway to the Sonian Forest, forms an architectural, wooded, and natural ensemble of great wealth.
