On 27 January 2005, the presbytery of Zonnegem was protected as a monument because of its historical and artistic value. It was built in 1859 according to plans by Bernard Latte and Jozef Demanet from Gavere, to replace an older presbytery. The presbytery is the last step in the permanent presence of a presbytery in Zonnegem since the 14th century. Since 1617 it has been situated on the current site with a moat. The building is representative of the structure and decoration of the neoclassical 19th-century presbyteries. The interior decoration with interior joinery, staircase, fireplaces and stucco was preserved relatively intact. The outbuildings with pigsties are also located on the inside of the moat, the ramparts have been very well preserved. It is one of the most spacious parish priest's houses, located in the middle of a vast park with ponds and forests.
