The Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk is the parish church of the East Flemish town of Waasmunster, located on the Kerkstraat.
In 2005-2006, archaeological research was carried out from which the prehistory of the church could be somewhat deduced. Waasmunster was the mother parish of the Waasland and in 1117 it already existed, because in that year the parish of Kemzeke split off. Lokeren followed in 1139 and Sint-Niklaas, Belsele and Sinaai in 1217. The aforementioned archaeological research makes the existence of a three-aisled Romanesque church likely. Before that time there was probably a single-aisled church that was built with Gallo-Roman material. The Romanesque church was rebuilt around 1500 in late Gothic style. Sand-lime stone was used for this.
