The Chapel of Our Lady of Langewade is a chapel, actually a pilgrimage church, in the town of Merkem, in the West Flemish municipality of Houthulst, located on the Iepersteenweg.
The oldest mention of the chapel is from 1506. A statue of the Virgin Mary is said to have arrived here by ship. Every time they wanted to place it in the church of Merkem, it miraculously reappeared at the place of landing. Eventually, a chapel was built on that site.
