The Roodebeek once originated near the current church of the Divine Savior, at the Roodebeeksesteenweg in the municipality of Schaarbeek. The Roodebeek is a now disappeared stream that flowed into the Woluwe at the Roodebeek metro station in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe. Just like the road and the hamlet that once existed here, the metro station was named after that lost stream. This source originated 300 meters from another spring, which formed the beginning of another Roodebeek (also called the Josafatbeek) and flowed off in the opposite direction, on the other side of the watershed. That other Roodebeek was a tributary of the Maalbeek.
