Town Hall Wijnegem

The old part of the town hall is a beautiful, stately, and particularly recognizable building. It dates from 1910 and was built in neo-Renaissance style (architect: Michel De Braey); a style that we cannot maintain in this day and age, considering the cost. Therefore, a modern building was chosen for the extension, which forms a beautiful whole with the original town hall. Given that the town hall is a classified building that cannot be built against, two walkways were opted for, one on the first and one on the second floor, to connect the two buildings. A lift was provided in the new town hall so that people with mobility issues can also attend ceremonies, receptions, or meetings.
