Not coincidentally, the street that leads from the city to the cemetery is called ‘rue de l’Egalité’. In the street, we see the small houses (numbers 8, 10) of the workers who worked in the tanning factories not far from here.
At the intersection with rue Hotonruy stands the former rectory of the Saint-Sébastien Church, built in the 18th century by Dom Thonnar. Directly opposite, we see a building whose half-timbering has been well preserved.
Apparently, not far from this spot, albeit in the woods on the left bank of the Amblève, the last wolf packs were spotted in 1865.
