Polberger place

This former Convent of Hope from 1884 also contained a school. Since 1938 there is also a grotto of Lourdes in the old garden of the monastery .

The boys and girls were perfectly separated by a wall. In 1913 it fell into disrepair and was replaced by a low wall with iron gates. Boys and girls could already see each other... In 1970 this wall with fences was torn down and replaced by a white line... It took another ten years before boys and girls could play together.

In 1985 the school closed its doors.

The city of Tielt, which bought it in 2004, wants to make the site more attractive from 2022. The chapel's visitor center will be a hall for meetings, family celebrations and workshops. That makes the brasserie concession more interesting.

The orchard will have a climbing course and picnic tables.
