Local limestone was chosen as the material. The central façade, flanked by two towers, is decorated with a rose and there are eight statues in the center.
The Visitation of Mary or the Visitation of Mary is a Christian holiday celebrated on May 31st. It commemorates Maria's visit to her cousin Elisabeth. At the time of the visit, Mary is pregnant with Jesus and Elizabeth of John the Baptist. When Isabel sees Mary coming, she is filled with the Holy Spirit, the child jumps into her womb and says to Mary: “You are the most blessed of women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” . Mary responds with a hymn to God, the Magnificat. Elisabeth's words are contained in the Ave Maria.
